Getting from Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK) to Jemaa el-Fna takes about 15 minutes by car — the square sits in the heart of the medina, roughly 6 km from the airport. The simplest, stress-free option is a pre-booked private transfer with a fixed price.
Your options from the airport
- Private transfer (recommended) — a driver meets you in arrivals with a name sign and takes you straight to your riad. Fixed price from €30 per vehicle. Book a Marrakech airport transfer.
- Official airport taxi — agree the fare before departure; rates are higher at night.
- Bus 19 — the cheapest option, running between the airport and the Jemaa el-Fna area.
Getting to your riad in the medina
Cars cannot enter the narrowest medina lanes, so a transfer will drop you at the closest vehicle access point, often a few minutes’ walk from your riad. Many riads can arrange a porter to meet you.
