Dar El Bacha is an early-20th-century palace built for Thami El Glaoui, the powerful Pasha of Marrakech. Restored and reopened as the Museum of Confluences (Musée des Confluences), it is famous for its serene Andalusian courtyard of zellij, marble and orange trees — and for the Bacha Coffee house within its walls.
Where is Dar El Bacha and how to get there
In the northern medina on Rue Dar el Bacha, between the Mouassine and Bab Doukkala quarters. About a 12–15 minute walk north-west from Jemaa el-Fna.
Opening hours and entrance fee
Open most days (often closed Mondays), generally 10:00–18:00. As of 2025 the fee is about 60–70 MAD (roughly €6–7). Entrance fees for Marrakech’s monuments are set by Morocco’s Ministry of Culture and reviewed from time to time, so treat any figure as a guide. The current price is posted at the ticket office, tickets are bought on site (bring cash in dirhams — cards are rarely accepted), and children usually pay a reduced rate.
