Dar Si Said is a beautiful 19th-century palace in the medina, today the National Museum of Weaving and Carpets. Built by the brother of Bahia Palace’s vizier, it is quieter than the big-name sites and combines superb Moroccan interiors with a rich collection of rugs.
Where is Dar Si Said and how to get there
In the south-east medina, a few minutes from Bahia Palace on Rue Riad Zitoun el-Jedid. About a 12-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fna.
Opening hours and entrance fee
Open most days (often closed on Tuesdays), generally 9:00–17:00. As of 2025 the fee is about 50–70 MAD (roughly €5–7). Entrance fees for Marrakech’s monuments are set by Morocco’s Ministry of Culture and reviewed from time to time, so treat any figure as a guide. The current price is posted at the ticket office, tickets are bought on site (bring cash in dirhams — cards are rarely accepted), and children usually pay a reduced rate.
