The Marrakech Museum occupies Dar Menebhi, a late-19th-century palace built for a former defence minister and restored by the Omar Benjelloun Foundation. It hosts rotating exhibitions of Moroccan art, but the star is the building itself — a vast central atrium crowned by an enormous brass chandelier.
Where is the Marrakech Museum and how to get there
In the northern medina on Place Ben Youssef, right beside the Ben Youssef Madrasa and the Almoravid Koubba. A 10–15 minute walk north from Jemaa el-Fna.
Opening hours and entrance fee
Open daily, generally 9:00–18:30. As of 2025 the fee is about 50–60 MAD (roughly €5–6), sometimes as a combined ticket with the Almoravid Koubba. Entrance fees for Marrakech’s monuments are set by Morocco’s Ministry of Culture and reviewed from time to time, so treat any figure as a guide. The current price is posted at the ticket office, tickets are bought on site (bring cash in dirhams — cards are rarely accepted), and children usually pay a reduced rate.
